The Feel-Good Feedback Loop
How Sticking to Small Daily Habits Builds Self-Trust, Boosts Confidence, and Unlocks a Cascade of Wins And The 3 Habits That Changed My Week
The Feel-Good Feedback Loop
I was listening to a podcast the other day when something struck a chord:
“Self-confidence is built by consistently following through with yourself.”
It’s so true.
Have you ever noticed how, on the days you actually get up with your alarm, go for that walk you planned, and eat a nourishing breakfast (even when the quick and convenient processed bar or muffin was calling your name), you feel different?
Prouder. More grounded.
A little more creative.
A lot more energized.
It might still be a regular Tuesday — but you move through it differently.
The things that used to throw you off don’t hit as hard. You feel more capable, more centered. Maybe you even feel inspired to eat a healthier lunch or find yourself more motivated to go the extra mile on a project.
That’s the feel-good feedback loop.
One feel-good choice can trigger a cascade of others.
A whole food lunch leads to increased afternoon energy.
Higher energy helps you follow through on your after-work workout.
Your workout boosts your mood.
A better mood sparks greater creativity.
That creative spark inspires you to strategize a new project for your business at night instead of scrolling on social media.
And suddenly you’re changing the course of your life — one tiny decision at a time.
Over time, these micro-decisions compound.
They shape our health, our mindset, our sense of alignment — and ultimately, our lives.
It’s About the Small, Daily Choices…
Taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
Choosing the nuts instead of the chips.
Going to the workout even when you don’t feel like it.
Closing Instagram and going for a walk instead.
Picking up a book instead of the remote.
These are the tiny acts of self-respect that build our self-confidence — and create a life filled with energy, clarity, and vitality.
It’s never just about the walk or the breakfast choice.
It’s about showing up for yourself — again and again.
It’s about proving that you can trust yourself.
That you will follow through.
The Myth of “Big” Discipline
I think we often link confidence and growth to big, dramatic changes:
Running a marathon.
Building a company that exits.
Never eating another processed food again.
But in reality?
It’s the small, consistent things — the habits we quietly commit to and actually follow through on — that stack up to make the biggest difference.
These tiny actions tell your brain:
“I can trust myself.”
“I do what I say I’ll do.”
“I’m someone who shows up.”
Consistency and following through for yourself builds trust, deep self-confidence, and a feeling of safety — that you are capable, you will always figure it out, and that you are capable of whatever you want to do as long as you follow through with yourself.
What I Did This Week
So I put this into practice.
I chose three habits this week that I would stick to — ones that made me feel good, set my day up for success, and created a ripple effect of productivity and energy.
These choices led me to feel:
More energized.
More creative.
More clear-headed.
More motivated.
They created a ripple effect in my week.
I found myself sleeping better, feeling genuinely less stressed (even while working more), making healthier food choices, waking up excited for my morning workouts, and moving through my days with more creativity and focus.
My 3 Feel-Good Habits This Week
Here are three small things I focused on this week. As always, I’ll break it down the LFG way—tactical, doable, and with resources to help you try it yourself if it resonates.
1. I got up with my alarm
My morning routine is so important to me.
When I follow it, it sets the tone for my entire day. I feel proud, productive, and energized. Doing things that feel good first thing in the morning not only boosts your mood — it also gives you a sense of accomplishment. That feeling carries through the rest of the day.
Every morning this week I got out of bed when my alarm went off and…
Drank a big glass of lemon water. I’ve been loving these big glass mason jars & glass straws- drinking out of glass is an easy non-toxic swap. I add organic lemon, mint and cucumber. It tastes like spa water & definitely gets you to drink more water!
I went to my workout. I like to work out at 7:30 every morning. I plan my workouts on Sundays and add them to my Google Calendar in a separate color. Sometimes, I talk myself out of going or opt to sleep in instead. But this week, I committed to getting up and going. I did—and by the time I got home, I was much more awake and genuinely excited to start the day.
2. Consumed a healthy fat first thing in the morning
The benefits of high-quality fats are endless. Fat is a superpower for hormone health, metabolic health, and overall vitality and energy.
Our body uses the fat we eat to build our cells. We are what we eat. We have to eat high-quality fats to build healthy cells and systems so our body functions optimally and we feel our best.
When I eat lots of high-quality fats, my skin is clearer, my hormones are more balanced, my hair is thicker, my focus is better, my mood is higher, and my energy is off the charts. I feel incredible.
Pairing healthy fats with every meal will lead to sustained, balanced energy and prevent the afternoon dips.
This week, I focused on making sure my first meal was loaded with healthy fats. The feel-good feedback loop effect here was that it led to increased focus, better work, new ideas, and a happier, more energized state of being.
A few ways to incorporate fat first thing….
Cook your eggs in organic extra virgin olive oil
Add MTC oil to your coffee
Add an avocado to your breakfast
Add a nut butter to your oatmeal
Grab a handful of nuts before you head out for your workout or morning walk
3. Accomplished one task I have been avoiding each day
If something really overwhelms me, I tend to avoid it. Just thinking about it makes me anxious. That feeling of I don’t even know where to start.
Anxiety often arises when something overwhelms us, makes us afraid, and we don’t feel capable of solving it.
The antithesis to anxiety is action.
I keep my daily to-dos and reminders on my Google Calendar. I create tasks and assign them to the day I need to do them so I don’t forget. But there’s always that one task I keep pushing out.
I find ways to justify it—“Next Friday is better anyway, you don’t have meetings,” or “I’ll have more information by then,”—so it feels logical to delay.
But 99% of the time, the right time to do it is now.
Just start. Whether that means calling to schedule the appointment, blocking time on your boss’s calendar to talk about something you’ve been avoiding, or beginning that project for your business—just start.
Every day this week, I did one thing I had been avoiding—whether it was researching and mapping out a project for my business that I kept putting off, deep cleaning my apartment, dropping off the return that had been sitting on my counter for weeks, figuring out something related to my taxes, texting a friend back, or finally buying a proper desk chair.
The antithesis to anxiety is action. Take action. Do the thing.
And watch the feel-good feedback loop take off.
Your turn.
What’s one small thing you can commit to this week that will help you feel good?
Not a huge overhaul. Just one follow-through with yourself.
Drop it in the comments—I’d love to cheer you on and build a little momentum together.
