The Hormone Support Guide: Tools & Resources to Tune Into Your Body & Cycle
Simple ways to understand your cycle and listen to what it’s telling you
Welcome to the first guide in our hormone series!
This month, we’re diving into all things hormones—unpacking the small, everyday shifts and choices that can truly move the needle on your energy, mood, sleep, skin, digestion, and overall resilience.
If you missed my story about coming off birth control—and the process of rebuilding safety within my body while healing years of a dysregulated nervous system, anxiety, PCOS, chronic inflammation, and an autoimmune disease—you can check it out here.
That journey is what inspired me to create LFG. If it resonates with you, it would mean the world if you shared LFG with your friends and family.
Our mission is simple: to help you build the tools to feel your best and lay the foundation for a lifetime of vibrant health.

Before we dive into tactical grocery guides, simple swaps, and micro-habits to support hormones, energy, and overall health, it’s important to first ground ourselves in understanding our bodies and cycles.
Taking a moment to pause, check in, and take inventory builds the awareness we need to make more intentional choices. In this guide, I’ll share the tools and resources that have been most impactful on my own journey.
🖊️ Journaling & Meditation
I believe that many health challenges—including hormonal ones—often begin with suppressed emotions and a dysregulated nervous system.
What are we holding in? What are we bracing for? What are we resisting—or running from? What are we not allowing ourselves to truly feel?
When we live in a constant state of fight or flight, always moving but never pausing, our hormones can fall out of balance. This can leave us feeling drained, irritable, or disconnected from ourselves—and over time, it can show up as irregular cycles, sleep issues, digestive discomfort, mood swings, or energy crashes.
Fertility and a healthy, regular cycle happen when your body feels safe.
If your body senses stress—real or perceived—it can shut down ovulation or throw your hormonal rhythm off entirely.
Your body doesn’t distinguish between being chased by a tiger and chasing a looming deadline, they trigger the same stress response.
Taking time each day to pause, tune into your body, notice how you feel, and process that energy is profoundly healing.
This kind of awareness supports hormonal balance in a way no pill, supplement, or product ever can. It’s the foundation for an aligned life where you feel vibrant, grounded, and fully at home in your body.
A few places to start….
For a guided journaling practice that helps surface and process suppressed emotions, I’ve been loving JournalSpeak by Nicole Sachs. It feels like a mental shower every morning, and I’ve come to the point where I can’t start my day without it.

📆 Health Insight Tools
Understanding your body and cycle is one of the most powerful ways to take ownership of your health and stay in tune with your body. Here are a few tools and trackers we use and love.
Oura - An amazing tool for tracking sleep, recovery, activity, heart health, women’s health, stress, and resilience. It automatically measures your temperature each morning and syncs with apps like Natural Cycles to help determine your fertility status.
Natural Cycles - An FDA-cleared, non-hormonal birth control that syncs with your wearable, automatically analyzes your temperature data, and confirms your fertility status.
Inito - FDA-registered fertility monitor that measures all four key fertility hormones using a single test strip. Right at home, in just 10 minutes.
Stardust - A free hormone health app that helps you sync with the phases of your cycle. It weaves together science, ancient wisdom, astronomy, and AI to help you understand the magic of your cycle, track your experiences, set intentions, and build a deeper connection with your body.
🧪 Testing & Functional Doctors
The most insightful hormone test you can do is the DUTCH Test.
The DUTCH test (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) measures hormones and their metabolites from dried urine samples.
Unlike standard blood tests, it goes beyond just estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, revealing how your body is actually processing and utilizing hormones. This deeper insight can help identify the root causes of hormonal imbalances—even when traditional blood work appears normal.
If you’re curious about understanding your hormones and uncovering the “why” behind your symptoms, this test can be incredibly valuable.
It’s best to work with a functional provider who can order the test and guide you in interpreting the results.
😊 Female Friendships & Community
I cannot stress this enough. Female friendships are some of the most important relationships we will ever have.
You don’t need dozens of them. A handful of deep, genuine, loyal, and vulnerable friendships can fill you up in the most nourishing, empowering way.
Women just get it.
There’s a shared language between us—a depth of understanding rooted in our experiences, our emotions, our bodies, and the ways we move through the world.
These friendships create spaces where you feel seen, supported, and celebrated in your wholeness. You can show up messy, emotional, strong, silly, honest—and be met with love, safety, loyalty, and often, an “I’ve been there too.”
Connection at this level doesn’t just strengthen us emotionally, it impacts us physically and hormonally, too. Community lowers stress, regulates the nervous system, and reminds us we’re never alone.
One of the best ways to cultivate these friendships is to be the kind of friend you want to have. Show up even when it’s inconvenient. Celebrate their wins. Stand beside them when life feels heavy.
Make the plans. Be the one to call first. Send the video that made you think of them. Check in. Show up. Be real.
The most nourishing friendships are the ones where the masks come off—where you can simply be yourself, fully and unapologetically.
